London Marathon 2006

On a very wet day David Weir stormed to a great win, a new course record and a number of useful scalps.  Attacking very early in the race, Dave put pressure of Ernst van Dyk and the rest of the pack.  At Shooters Hill, and whilst trying to make the most of the downhill, van Dyk took the turn too fast and lost control...ending his race and also colliding with three St John's Ambulance men - all four ended up in hospital.  Denis Lemeunier was also a casualty of the fast wet turn, receiving broken ribs in the process
